Design and Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Environment Monitoring
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Artificial intelligence has made itself prevalent in almost all walks of life. This technology can play a crucial role in simplifying and protecting our lives. This paper explores one such possibility from concept to prototype;the featured robot is capable of reducing loss of life and damage to property caused due to natural disasters. By monitoring toxic gas content it is not only able to provide active feedback to users and curtail the adverse effects of disasters like the Bhopal gas tragedy, but the dense inter-connection of networked sensors permits relaying this real-time information to prevent loss of life during rescue operations wherein the rescuers are un-aware of the “silent killer” lurking in the form of toxic gas. The use of MQ series of gas sensors and 8-bit microcontroller units coupled with ZigBee modules for wireless communication provide an effective means for monitoring localities. Existing IP infrastructure can also be use to provide globalized control and status reporting. A study of the technological aspects for integration into existing networks and implementing the same has been considered.
