





An Efficient Fuzzy-Logic Based Control of Heat Exchanger System

The main objective of the experimental shell and tube heat exchanger presented in this paper is to control the temperature of outgoing fluid to a desired set point despite of different disturbances. The entire heat exchanger system is modeled using experimental data and a single-input, single-output transfer function model of the system is developed. Conventional controllers were designed for different control loops. Feedback and feed forward control loops were implemented to achieve the control objective. Soft computing approach was also implemented in the controller design methodology to give a requisite intelligence to the controller. A fuzzy-logic controller was designed and implemented in the process. A comparative study of different controller has been shown in this paper.
