I seek to shed light on how the process of growth and development of society enhanced by Hindi press. In this paper I am going to compare two approaches with same resultant that how the emergence of Hindi press helped and democratise the marginalised people (Hindi speaking people). The comparison reveals the two approaches are complementary in some ways. One approach is inspired by the philosopher Jürgen Habermas's concepts of communicative action, and the making of public sphere and the second approach is inspired by Stuart Hall's, “How does the ideological processes work and what are it's mechanism?” In this paper I am also trying to show the ways in which how the emergence of Hindi news paper helped to connect diverse social group in a network and helped in strengthening of Indian democracy. I will explain how I think Habermas's concepts are related to social development then describe role of Hindi press in social protest.
