You will all know that problems abound in welding -if it were not so. welding engineers would be less in demand than they are now. The type of problem I am going to talk about is not the sort that you meet every day such as excessive slag inclusions (due to a lazy welder), porosity (poor quality electrodes), lack of fusion (incorrect current setting), incomplete penetration (wrong joint design) etc., etc.
