Role of Repair Welding in the Management of Power Plant Components

The management of power plant components is discussed from the perspective of the repair welding philosophy including applicable codes and regulations. A few case histories of repair welding of power plant components are discussed with special emphasis to steam turbine components. Details of indigenous repair welding of cracked steam turbine blades and shrouds in some of the Indian nuclear power plants are also presented.
