Every fifth person in this planet is an Indian. Vast majority of this population are living below the poverty line. At this crucial juncture the Union Government envisaged a target of "Health for All by 2000 A.D." This target will remain a mere dream if any appropriate step is not taken to develop the technical and engineering manpower requirement at various levels to cater the future need of the country.
