Editorial Notes

Development of Calcutta: The paper on this subject by Sri K. B. Banerjee published in our December issue of 1961. Vol. XXXVI No. 4 has been well received and we have had a request from a well known publication for permission to reproduce it. This paper was only an introduction containing the Historical element. The technical aspects and problems needing solution will be dealt with in later issues as time and space permit. In this issue we are unable to include any portion of it. But in the next issue we shall publish another portion relating to drainage problems of the city water supply and power problems will follow later on.
