Use of Bamboo as Reinforcement in Cement Concrete

The use of bamboo as reinforcement is prevalent in India, Malaya, Italy, America, China and Japan since long where I have seen the works with above mentioned reinforcement being done. But with the scientific development of the world steel reinforcement being done. But with the scientific development of the world steel reinforcement superseded it and the use of Bamboo became rather out of date.
