Subscribe/Renew Journal
We are all more or less familiar with street floodings in Calcutta during the monsoon and most of us have the sad experience of being marooned when main streets and roads are transformed into miniature lakes and the only form of locomotion available is either hackney carriages or rickshaws. At such times much annoyance is felt and bitter hard words are used against authorities concerned to allow such state of things to continue in the 2nd City of the British Empire from year to year and from generation to generation.
