Rigorous Analysis of Rectangular Water Tanks by Finite Difference Method

The paper deals with the rigorous analysis of rectangular water tanks by finite difference method. The tank walls are considered to be continuous with each other and at base also. The computer facility is used to generate the deflection values and to get the B.M. and S.F. coefficients at the selected nodel points. In most of the cases they appear to be on the lower side than given by IS 3370 Part IV 1967.
