A Study of Damping Characteristics of Cantilever Beams of Different Sections

Free vibration tests of M. S. cantilever beams of different sections were performed. The decibel values were computed from the decay photographs. The plot of decibel versus cycle showed a trend of being concave upwards which indicated that the material damping was predominant.
