A Note on Tubewell Irrigation-Govt. Plans & Programmes

Deep Tubewell Irrigation came to be conceived as an effective, measure for providing irrigation to the agricultural fields particularly to the areas not benefited by any major irrigation project and also where surface irrigation is not feasible. A target for setting up of 3000 deep tubewells in the State was fixed. But before such gigantic programme could be implemented exploration of the geo-hydrological condition's of the underground formation was deemed advisable.
