Dyed Blue yet not Dead: Methylene Blue Toxicity-Managed Conservatively

Methylene blue is commonly used dye in diagnostic procedures such as, checking the patency of the fallopian tubes. It has tissue staining property in addition to an oxidation–reduction function¹. However, it must be remembered that this drug like any other drugs should be given with due regards for, proper dosage and potential adverse effects². Few cases have been reported with non-systemic administration to methylene blue leading to pulmonary edema and managed successfully, conservatively.
