Effect of Unani Formulations on Nephrolithiasis (Hisat-E-Kulyah)-A Case Report

Nephrolithiasis is a common urologic disease worldwide. Despite advanced technology like lithotripsy the management of renal calculi remains a challenge. Most of the Indian patients prefer to take alternative medicine before undergoing painful surgery. The present paper deals with a case report in which a 37 year old male patient of bilateral multiple renal calculi was treated with Unani pharmacopeal medicine: QursKaknaj, QursKushtaHajrulYahood, ArqKasni and SharbatBuzooriMotadil as oral administration,with the aim to evaluate the efficacy of drugs and to avoid surgery. Patient has shown excellent result in subsequent investigations and finally patient got free from renal calculi without operation.
