E-Books:An Overview

Electronic Books or e-Books are books published in electronic form and may be accessed via the Internet. The entire flow of information from author to reader is managed in digital form. Full text of the books are available mainly for reading and copying of the same will be possible only for a few pages of some books as per the right given by the publishers. These e-Books are accessible either fee based or free of cost basis. This paper highlights the history of e-book, definition, features, advantages and disadvantages, multimedia use, format, applications, delivery, free e-book websites, etc.
