





A Study on Age Incidence of Thyroid Nodule in Our Institution

Thyroid swellings or nodule can present as both mutlinodular and solitary nodular goitre. A discrete swelling in an otherwise impalpable gland is termed as solitary nodule of thyroid. Prevalence ranges from 4% to 10% in general adult and 0.2 to 1.5% in children. The study was done Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital from June 2017 to October 2018 in the department of General surgery. Incidence of thyroid nodule in different age groups It is concluded from the present series that peak incidence of thyroid nodule is from 50-60 years of age.
