Occurrence of Juglans sigillata and Caryota obtusa in Nagaland: New Distributional Records and Economic Notes

During survey and field collection of crop genetic resources in parts of Nagaland, authors came across the natural distribution of two wild species viz. Juglans sigillata Dode and Caryota obtusa Griff. These species are being utilised by the natives for many economic uses. Juglans regia L., mentioned in the floristic records of the state as being wild, in fact refers to the closely related species, J. sigillata. Their description, phenology, habitat and other field notes, and usefulness have been highlighted here.
