Stability Parameters for Different Traits in Solanum viarum Dunal
Subscribe/Renew Journal
10 genotypes of Solanum viarum Dunal grown in 4 seasons were analysed for different stability parameters for 5 attributes. The stability analysis revealed that genotypes interacted significantly with environment. The linear component appeared to account for most of the interactions present. The non-linear components were observed to be highly significant for all the characters. The larger variation in regression coefficients revealed that genotypes had different degree of environmental response. Genotypes studied did not exhibit uniform stability (S2d) and response (linear) for all the characters. High stability of number of berries/plant and test weight conferred high stability for berry yield on S4, and S14. The mean performance appeared to be associated with linear component of genotype × environmental interaction, whereas no such relationship of non-linear component with mean performance as well as regression coefficient was noticed.
