





Motivational Factors for Increasing Work Efficiency among Engineering College Librarians:A Comparative Study of Maharashtra and Karnataka States

Motivation is a term which is generally used to apply to the entire class of drives, desires, needs, wishes and similar forces which channelises individual and group behaviour for the achievement of individual and organizational goal. One of the most difficult task of an organization is that of motivating its employees to perform the work assigned to them in such a way that the employees are satisfied and organizational goals are achieved. In order to make employees satisfied and committed to their jobs in academic libraries, there is need for strong and effective motivation at the various levels, and sections of the library. This study examines some of the motivational factors for increasing work efficiency of engineering college librarians of Maharashtra and Karnataka States. Present study is based on the primary data collected from 233 respondents through pre-tested structured and comprehensive questionnaire.
