In this final Part, I shall deal only occasionally with indexing techniques, and consider instead a range of diverse topics, mostly within the field of index production and management. I shall also touch briefly upon some of the current research and development projects going on within the Subject Systems Office of the British Library, where we are exploring new ways of using PRECIS as the subject approach to a large data base. Finally, I shall touch very briefly on the related topics of indexer performance and user evaluation.
